- The Juniors
- All standarized breeds. Unstandarized cavies are shown separate.
- The cavies are shown in different classes depending on breed and
sex.
- The cavies must be min. 2 months old on the show-date, and no more
than one day younger than 5 months.
- Best of Breed Junior and Best of Breed Junior Reserve are given.
If given a certificate, both these are automatically in the Best in
Show Junior finale.
- The juniors have their own Best in Show finale, and can't compete
in the senior finale.
- The Seniors
- All standarized breeds. Clipped longhair and unstandarized
cavies are shown separate.
- The cavies are shown in different classes depending on breed, sex
and age.
- The cavies must be min. 5 months old on the show-date, and no more
than one day younger than 72 months.
- Classes: 5-8 months o. 8 months and Championclass
(Norwegian champions only). More classes can be added if necessary.
- Best of Breed and Best of Breed Reserve are given. If given a
certficate, both these are automatically in the Best in Show finale.
- Clippes Longhair
- All clipped lonhairs can be shown from the day they are 5 months
and until the day before they become 72 months.
- The cavies are diveded into different classes depending on breed,
sex and age.
- Classes: 5-8 months, 8-12 months, over 12 months and Championclass
(Norwegian champions only).
- Clipped longhair can't compete in Best in Show with the
standarized breeds, but Best Clipped Longhair 1-5 are given,
depending on
how many enteries.
- Unstandarized
- All breeds without standards are shown here.
- ex. ch-teddy, cuy, crested teddy, satin teddy, satin longhair (except
satin sheltie, which is standarized) etc.
- Best unstandarized junior and best unstandarized senior is given.
- Breedersgroups
- Exhibitor can show min. 2, max. 4 cavies of own breeding in a
group.
- Exhibitor don't need to own the cavies he/she shows, but he/she
must be the breeder.
- The cavies must be of the same breed. Shorthairs must be of the
same colour/markings.
- Best Breedersgroup is given to the winning group.
- "Breeding class"
- Exhibitor can show min. 3, max 4 cavies in a group.
- The group must contain closly related animals, ex. mother,
daughter and son, or father, son and son's son. You are showing a
breeding animal and min. 2 of it's offspring.
- The breeding sow or boar doesn't need to be of own breeding, but
the offspring must be bred by the one entering the group.
- Generally
- In all classes is owner/exhibitor responsible for keeping up with
the katalouge/judging, and for bringing their animal(-s) to the
table.
- At big shows it can be called for carriers if an animal is called
2 times, and still not brought to the table. It won't be called for
a carrier
for longhairs in coat. But, in general, everyone is responsible for
bringing their animal(-s) to the table themselves.
- Purebreeds must be shown on a "show-board". In pet-class it is
allowed to use a towl.
- Rules for becoming
Norwegian Champion
- To become Norwegian Champion, your cavy needs 3 certifications
from min. 2 different judges. Only one junior certification can be
used.
- Cavies which are/becomes champions in one of the other Nordic
countries, only need one Norwegian certificate to become
Norwegian Champion. Both junior- and senior certifications can be used.
- The cavy must be registrated in NMK as Norwegian Champion for the
titel to be official.
- Petclass
- You can show both pets and purebreeds in Petclass. Pedigree is not
necessary.
- The cavies are shown in different classes, depending on age and
sex.
- Junoir: 2-5 months. More classes can be added if necessary.
- Senior: 5-8 months and o. 8 months. More classes can be added if
necessary.
- There are separate BIS-finals for juniors and seniors.
